Johnson City Pig Roast 2008
  • What is the Pig Roast? It is a motorcycle run put on by the Hill Country Toy Run
    Association held the 2nd weekend of October in Johnson City, Texas to benefit
    underprivileged children, primarily the Cherokee Home for Children.


  • Is there a place for RV camping? Yes, the RVs are directed to sites along the river.
    However, there are no sewer or electric hook-ups. RVs must be self-contained. It is important
    that nothing be dumped as these campsites are along the river. If we encounter illegal
    dumping of any material, we will be forced to require clean up deposits or ban RVs all
    together.

  • Can I reserve a camping space? No. It is on a first come, first serve basis.

  • How much does it cost to get in the gate? $25.00 per person for the weekend.

  • Do you accept credit cards? No, we do not at this time.

  • Can I bring my kids? Please remember that even though this is a benefit for children this is
    a motorcycle run and some events may not be suitable for young children. If you feel
    comfortable you can bring your kids; however, you are responsible for your them and their
    well being. Children 6 and under are free. Anyone under 21 must be accompanied by an
    adult. You are responsible for any minor you bring.

  • Can I bring my pets? Yes. Pets must be on a leash at ALL times. Pets are the sole
    responsibility of the owner. Aggressive animals are not permitted.

  • Can I bring a golf cart, 3 wheeler, "mule", or "gator" to the run? Yes, if it is operated
    in a safe manner around others.


  • What kind of  Bike Games will there be? Weather permitting, there will be the Barrel
    Race,  Eggstacle Course, Keg Roll, Wienie Bite, and the Slow Race. First, Second, and Third
    Place Trophies will be awarded for these events.


  • Do I need to bring my own firewood? Yes, you need to bring your own wood.
    Occasionally Blanco County is under a burn ban which means NO ground fires. Please
    check back for burn ban status.

  • Will there be showers available? Yes. These are not on the Fairground Site itself but
    about a 1/2 mile down the road at the Johnson City Pool. These are very clean and scheduled
    shuttle escorts will be available. See front gate upon entry for more information.

  • Who do I contact if I wish to donate an auction item or door prize? Please contact
    Donna at donna@jcpigroast.org for more information.

  • Do you have Sunday Services? Yes. They are provided by Tribe of Judah. The time of
    the Sunday morning services will be posted at the event.

  • Where can I get information if I am interested in being a vendor? See vendor's
    page.

  • Can we come earlier than Friday? Vendors may come to set-up at 8 am on Thursday -
    NO EARLIER!! Gate opens to weekend campers on Friday @ 8 am - NO EARLIER!!

  • Where can I get a schedule of events? Posted at a later date. Check back as the Pig
    Roast gets closer.

  • What Bike Show categories do you have? Right now we currently have a "People's
    Choice" class  with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies.

  • Can I preregister? We will not be offering this at this time as that would require us to have
    our *!!#* together and there is plenty of room for everyone. Hey, at least we're honest!

  • What kinds of food and drinks are available?There will be plenty of vendors that
    provide food and beverages.  The Saturday night pork roast feast is included in the gate fee
    and you won't want to miss this because the kitchen and pit crews continually out do
    themselves by providing a mouthwatering meal.
